JAKARTA - President Director of the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) Eddy Abdurachman revealed that the management of funds from palm oil export levies has decreased sharply in 2022 due to the government's ban on exports from April to May.

"If compared to 2021 which reached IDR 71.64 trillion, there was a big decline because from April to May, the government banned exports of crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative products so that BPDPKS did not receive revenue from export levies," he said in a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday, December 22.

The amount of export levies this year only reached IDR 34.5 trillion. This means that the amount decreased by 51.84 percent from the acquisition in 2021.

The absence of receipts from the CPO export levy and its derivative products will continue until July 15 when the government sets a zero rupiah export levy policy.

"It continued until November 15 last, so approximately four months BPDPKS could not receive exports because the rate was zero," continued Eddy.

He further explained that the performance of the return from the collection of BPDPKS funds in 2022 was IDR 800 billion.

The managed funds are used to carry out programs that include providing support for the mandatory biodiesel program, rejuvenation of people's palm oil, provision of palm oil facilities and infrastructure, research and development, development of human resources, as well as promotional and partnership programs.

Furthermore, Eddy explained, all priority activities carried out by BPDPKS are aimed at developing sustainable palm oil with the main aim of maintaining price stabilization and production cost efficiency.

This is done through the creation of superior product quality, supply certainty, market certainty and the availability of supporting infrastructure, especially to transform people's welfare through a sustainable palm oil industry.
