KPC-PEN After The End Of This Year With Budget Absorption Of Rp330.7 Trillion, The Rest Returned To The State Treasury

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the Committee for Handling the COVID-19 Pandemic and National Economic Recovery (KPC-PEN) will complete its duties at the end of this year. Given the allocation of funds for PC-PEN is abolished for 2023.

"KPC-PEN will be completed by the end of this year," he told reporters, written Wednesday, December 21.

The PEN budget has not yet been fully absorbed 100 percent. Where the realization of PEN funds reached Rp330.7 trillion as of December 9, 2022. This figure is about 72.6 percent of the total funds prepared.

Airlangga explained that the realization depended on the number of cases that occurred. With the trend of cases decreasing, the use of PC-PEN funds also decreased.

Furthermore, Airlangga emphasized that the government did not really pursue to realize the total PC-PEN budget of IDR 454.62 trillion for the 2022 allocation. Moreover, the current conditions have changed.

Later, said Airlangga, the remaining funds will go back to the state treasury at the Ministry of Finance. This means that it will be allocated according to what is stated in the design of the 2023 state revenue and expenditure budget allocation (APBN).

"Directed to the (Ministry) of Finance," he said.

For your information, Coordinating Minister Airlangga also said that PEN will not be continued next year. The program was stopped because next year it is believed that conditions will return to normal.
