JAKARTA - President Director of PT PLN (Persero) Darmawan Prasodjo said that the current electricity condition is much better than a year ago. Currently, all power plants are in prime condition and the primary energy supply is also safe.

For this year, PLN has alerted 3,000 posts and 78,000 personnel to maintain electricity reliability ahead of Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 (Nataru). The company has also set a Nataru alert period from 19 December 2022 to 4 January 2023.

"Today we are facing Nataru with optimism with the reliability of our system which is far more reliable than the reliability of the system 2-3 years ago," Darmawan said while leading the 2023 Christmas & New Year Electricity Alert Apple at the PLN Headquarters, Tuesday, December 20.

For this reason, Darmawan asked all PLN ranks to be fully alert during the Nataru period, starting from the PLN Office to the Nataru Alert Post, the Head Office will become a control center, while every Main Unit office to the Service Implementing Unit will become an Alert Post.

"I hope that not a single worship activity is disrupted by its electricity service, not a single church, not a single hospital, not a single public facility, not a single activity center has disrupted its electricity supply during the Christmas and New Year 2023 celebrations," he said.

PLN ensures that the electricity supply is very adequate with a total national power installed by plants during the Nataru period of 55.67 Giga Watt (GW) with a capable capacity of 46.26 GW.

"We are building the digitization of our generating governance, transmission, distribution, and customer service. This year's PLN electricity system is in the best reliability in the history of PLN," said Darmawan.

Darmawan detailed that for Java, Madura and Bali have a capable capacity of 32,298 Mega Watt (MW), Sumatra of 6,853 MW, Kalimantan with a capable capacity of 2,086 MW, Sulawesi has a capable capacity of 1,967 MW and Maluku, Papua and Nusa Tenggara power capable of 342 MW.

In terms of generation, transmission and distribution, PLN has advanced all maintenance schedules so that by the end of December all electrical assets are in prime condition. PLN also implements a layered security system such as automatic diversion of electricity in the event of a disturbance at a certain point.

"Especially we prioritize layered electricity security in churches and VVIP places. We prepare special guard at distribution substations and also personnel who are alert to overcome obstacles," said Darmawan.

In addition to ensuring that electricity supply is safe from the source side and also from the network, PLN has also prepared 3,110 supporting equipment in all units. In addition, 6,749 vehicles were alerted to overcome potential disturbances and electricity services.

For users of electric vehicles who want to take a vacation to tourist destinations or travel long distances/homecoming, PLN also ensures that all Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) operate well, from Aceh to Lampung, from Manado to Makassar, from Samarinda to Banjarbaru, even in Mataram, Labuan Bajo, Bali to Papua.

For Java PLN Island, it also provides SPKLU along the Java Toll Rest Area. Currently, PLN has operated SPKLU in 9 rest areas along the Trans Java Toll Road from Cikampek to Kertosono, Madiun.

Nine SPKLU points are located in the Rest Area KM 519 A (Solo Ngawi), Rest Area KM 519 B (Ngawi Solo), Rest Area KM 389 B (Batang - Semarang), Rest Area KM 379 A (Semarang - Batang), Rest Area KM 626 B (Kertosono, Madiun), Rest Area KM 207 A (Palikanci, Cirebon), Rest Area 208 B (Palikanci), Rest Area Km 10.6 Jagorawi Toll Road and Rest Area KM 6 (Jakarta-Cikampek).

All customer needs related to electricity, the public also no longer need to bother reporting it to the PLN office. Through PLN Mobile SuperApps, the public can now report disturbances or needs related to electricity in one hand.
