PPI Salurkan Fruit Tree Bibit For Environmental Preservation In Bantul

PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI) provides Environmental Conservation Assistance in the form of 500 fruit tree seedlings as a means of environmental rehabilitation with planting locations in Depok Hamlet, Parangtritis Village, Kretek District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, on Sunday 17 December.

The planting of tree seedlings is also a form of support for the SOE Ministry's program, namely the movement to plant 1 million trees.

In the event, PPI also conducted socialization and education on the theme of Aquaculture in front of the Padakuhan Depok Parangtritis Farmers Group Association (Gapoktan). This Gapoktan is also an embryo for millennial farmers because the next generation consists of young people who are members of this Gapoktan.

Socialization and education were then conveyed by PPL Kretek District. Meanwhile, the delivery of Dharmabrand's product knowledge was conveyed by Retno Wulansari, PPI Agriculture Production Facilities Manager. Most of the people at the aid delivery site are indeed working by farming.

PPI itself continues to carry out the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program throughout 2022. This program is an effort to help people in the fields of the environment, health, education, basic needs, facilities and infrastructure, as well as various other needs of the community.

Director of Finance, Risk Management, HR & General Wien Irwanto said, PPI continues to provide benefits to the wider community through implemented TJSL programs.

"PPI consistently carries out its functions through the TJSL program to provide benefits in the environmental, social, and economic fields. This assistance is a form of PPI's commitment to achieve sustainable development goals," said Wien in a written statement.

"PPI has implemented various TJSL programs that are in line with the priority of sustainable development goals guided by the Minister of SOEs Regulation. The TJSL program is expected to support business activities that have a positive impact on social, environmental and economic aspects so as to create a Creating Shared Value," continued Wien.

The effort to plant tree seedlings carried out by PPI is in line with the direction of SOE Minister Erick Thohir who stated that the program to plant trees through the TJSL Program is to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

"The impact of planting trees will make the air cleaner, reduce the impact of global warming, absorb air pollution, help achieve the zero emission target by 2060 and also answer the issue of decarbonization," said Erick.

For information, the decision of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 24 of 2008 concerning the Day of Planting Indonesian Tree has determined December as the month of planting the nation.
