JAKARTA - To make it easier for business actors to gain access to market financing and expansion, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) calls Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) the core of the development and progress of the country's creative economy industry.

Deputy for Digital Economy and Creative Products of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Neil El Himam said the HKI was present as a form of legality for product brands or works produced by creatives.

"In the 2022 WCCE event in Bali, the President conveyed that creative economy in Indonesia and many other countries will become the backbone of the future, getting stronger and taken into account as an inclusive economic force. Creative economy development must continue to be motivated to become a futuristic sector that grows faster, bigger, and progresses," Neil said in a written statement, Saturday, December 17.

HKI needs to be taken seriously by creative economy actors. With HKI, creative economy actors have legal protection for their products. Another benefit is that it can increase competitiveness and expand opportunities for business actors to develop the market.

"We will continue to work on the HKI facilitation and education program for the country's creative economy actors," he said.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has superior programs in encouraging the development of creative economy businesses, including Indonesian Creative Appreciation (AKI), Packaging Design Surgery (Bedakan), Assimilation, Santri Digitalpreneur, Fatherrekraf Digital Talent (BDT), and others.

"This Packaging Designdah is our flagship program because the benefits are really felt directly by business actors," said Neil.

Meanwhile, Expert Staff for Innovation and Creativity at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Josua Simanjuntak, said that the international WCCE 2022 meeting in Bali had produced a creative economy roadmap for global economic recovery called the Bali Creative Economy Roadmap or Bali Roadmap.

Bali Roadmap is a document agreed upon by the WCCE delegates as a road map for economic revival, in which the creative economy sector is the backbone of the global economic revival.

Bali Roadmap contains several points, namely related to how to mainstream the creative economy in the world economy, including the transformation from informal business actors to formal businesses.

"For example, the current unicorns start from informal businesses, they try to make solutions. Maybe the applications made are quite simple, but now they are entering a formal ecosystem that has an IPO," he said.

Then, there are access points for financing that pave the way for creative economy actors to gain wider access to financing, namely related to marketing creative economy in order to be able to adapt using digital technology on the marketing side.

The most important point in the field of creative economy is intellectual property (IP), this intellectual property protection can be used to advance and become access to financing for creative economy actors.

Previously, the government had issued a legal basis in an intellectual property-based financing scheme, namely through Government Regulation Number 24 of 2022 concerning Creative Economy.
