JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation predicts that there will be a surge in airplane passengers during the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays.

A number of airlines have also proposed extra flights or additional flights with a total of 98 flights to accommodate the spike.

The Daily Acting Director General of Civil Aviation Budi Prayitno said the number of aircraft fleets ready to serve passengers during the Christmas and New Year holidays was 402 units and 13 business entities for commercial scheduled air transportation.
