JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) ensures the readiness of toll roads and national roads to support the smoothness and convenience of traffic flow during the 2022 Christmas and New Year 2023 (Nataru) holidays. Especially on the island of Sumatra, PUPR will also operate two functional toll roads. Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono said that in general the readiness of road infrastructure in supporting the Nataru 2022-2023 homecoming flow has been better than in previous years. This is also supported by the addition of operational toll roads and functionally operated toll roads. "To support Nataru on the island of Sumatra Toll Roads operating along 738 km with TIP as many as 27 TIP as many as 20 type A and 7 TIP type B," he said in a meeting with Commission V DPR, Tuesday, December 13. On the island of Sumatra, said Basuki, an additional operation toll road was also carried out, namely the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road (Seksi 2 Selimeum-Jantho) along 6.3 km, the Binjai Langsa Toll Road (Seksi Binjai-Stabat) along 11.8 km. Then, the Lubuklinggau-Curup-Bengkulu Toll Road (Sek Bengkulu-Taba Penjung Toll Road) along 16.7 km and the Pekanbaru-Padang Toll Road (Section 1 Pekanbaru-Bangkinang) along the 30.9 km. Basuki said to support the smooth running of Nataru on the island of Sumatra was also operated functionally by two toll roads, namely the Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll Road (Seksi 5 and 6 Blang Bintussala- SS Baitussalam) along 12.3 km and the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tingk-Papapat Toll Road (Section 1 Tebing Tinggi-Indrapura) along 20.4 km. Meanwhile, the national road section in Sumatra is ready to be used for 7,918 km, namely the 2,562 km West Cross Road (surface 97 percent), the 3,019 km East Cross Road (mantap 95 percent), and the 2,338 km Central Cross Road (mantap 93 percent). "The handling of road infrastructure affected by landslides was carried out in Siturpasi Lauik, West Sumatra," he said. Kalimantan, Bali and Sulawesi Not only in Sumatra, Basuki said the preparation of Nataru on the islands of Kalimantan, Bali, and Sulawesi would still take advantage of the existing national toll roads and roads. In Kalimantan, the operational toll road is the Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road along 99 km, while the national road sections ready to be used along 6.556 km consist of North, Central and South Cross Roads with a steady condition of 85.4 percent. Meanwhile on the island of Bali, the Bali-Mandara Toll Road has been operational for 10.1 km and the national road segment is ready to be used along 363.4 km consisting of North and South Cross with a steady condition of 98.3 percent. On Sulawesi Island, the operational toll road is 61.5 km, consisting of the Ujung Pandang-Makassar Toll Road Section 1 to 3 along 10.1 km. Then, the Makassar Toll Section 4 along 11.6 km, and the Manado-Bitung Toll Road along 39.8 km. For the national road segment ready to be used for a long of 17,284.4 km which is generally in a steady condition of 93.2 percent. On the national road road in Sulawesi, there was also handling of road infrastructure affected by landslides at Trans Sulawesi Majene-Mamuju, West Sulawesi on 27 October 2022.
