JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) earlier this week held a 2022 Expert Dialogue entitled The Role of the State Budget in the Context of Economic Recovery and Global Risk Anticipation. This forum is considered quite important to attract input from experts in order to anticipate all risks, including the global recession.

The Director General of Budget of the Ministry of Finance Isa Rachmatarwata said that the pandemic that has hit over the past two years requires fast, precise and accountable handling in the face of changes that are so fast.

"Alhamdulillah, with better control, the pandemic can be controlled. Now maybe we are dealing with economic conditions that are not getting better faster than expected after the pandemic, maybe even exacerbated by some geopolitical cases," he said in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, December 13.

According to Isa, this expert dialogue is also the government's way of getting input from non-technical and non-governmental parties regarding the world situation in the coming year, as well as the main aspects of the macroeconomics in 2024.

"So it doesn't stop having to keep trying to update our understanding of this world, and it can't be seen from just one point of view, just one point of view of technocrats, but we also hear from practitioners in the field," he said.

Isa added that various other activities initiated by the Ministry of Finance can help build people's love, especially the younger generation, of the state budget.

"We prove through the activities of the State Budget Olympics for students who have successfully received great attention," he stressed

For information, the expert dialogue organized by Sri Mulyani's ranks presented three economists, namely Aviliani (Ekonomist and Commissioner of Allo Bank), Anny Ratnawati (economy/IPB Lecturer), former Deputy Minister of Finance, and Noni Purnomo (President Commissioner of Blue Bird Group).
