According to Perry, this step is in line with the direction of central bank policy to develop cashless financial transactions in 2023.

"The digitalization optimism is reflected in the projected growth of 2023 with e-commerce increasing by IDR 572 trillion, the development of digital banking rose to IDR 67,600 trillion, and electronic money IDR 508 trillion," he said when giving a written statement on Tuesday, December 6.

Perry revealed, through the implementation of the Acceleration and Expansion of Regional Digitalization (P2DD), regional revenues have the potential to increase, absorption is getting faster, so that the economy grows stronger.

"The payment industry has ended to the end between all parties to serve the central and regional economy," he said.

Furthermore, Perry explained that BI supports the acceleration of the transformation of payment digitization with fast payment (BI-FAST), SNAP, QRIS, as well as through synergy with the government, creating domestic Government Credit Cards (KKP) for ease of government spending.

"The world is indeed volatile, as long as there is cooperation and collaboration between the center and the regions, we welcome 2023 with optimism and remain vigilant," he said.

Meanwhile, the five important steps that continue to be pursued are the strengthening of regulations at the central and regional levels with the target of the local government's transaction electronicization index reaching 65 percent.

Then, the creation of a wider regional government digital ecosystem, integrating information systems for regional financial management nationally, increasing the synergy of the government, BI, and OJK, and preparing a policy framework for implementing national tax electronicization.

To note, the latest development of government digitization in the first semester of 2022 is considered to show positive results. The local government of digital categories was recorded as 283 local governments from 199 local governments in the previous semester, an increase of 42 percent.

Meanwhile, Bank Indonesia believes that digitalization of payment transactions is able to strengthen local government resilience through optimizing Regional Original Revenue (PAD) and realizing spending.

"Digitalization has made it easier for people to pay taxes and levies. Meanwhile, in terms of spending, digitization has increased efficiency, supported financial management and governance," concluded Perry.
