JAKARTA - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Bekasi, West Java, is considered successful in controlling inflation in a stable condition in the area based on the results of an evaluation conducted by the government through the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

"Alhamdulillah, after being evaluated it is still stable, it means that the efforts we have made so far are able to control inflation," said Bekasi Regent Dani Ramdan in Cikarang, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, December 6.

He explained that various strategies and special steps were taken by the local government (Pemda) to reduce the inflation rate, starting from intensively monitoring prices, operating low-cost markets, to providing subsidies for small communities.

These efforts are considered quite effective so that the inflation rate, especially in Bekasi Regency, can be suppressed until they return to a stable position. The Bekasi Regional Government admitted that it would continue this positive step.

Dani stated that the local government next year will also continue this strategy by adding new steps, namely maintaining the stock of basic needs of the community.

"We will cooperate with producing regions through private cooperation to increase or meet food stocks in Bekasi Regency," he said.

He hopes that through a scheme to meet the needs of basic food supplies in the market, the prices of basic needs of the community can also be stabilized. This is done to prevent an increase in food commodity prices.

"Depending on supply, if supply is adequate, there will be no price increase, because purchasing power is quite high," he said.

He also prepared anticipatory steps to keep all the basic needs of the community available on the market. "Especially rice, it continues to be available on the market, especially now that it has just entered the planting season. Then other commodities such as chicken, eggs, and chili," he said.
