PGE DRIVEs Oil And Gas At Three Points In North Aceh

JAKARTA - The Aceh Government's oil and gas company, PT Pemera Global Energi (PGE), will drill oil and gas (oil and gas) at three points in North Aceh Regency.

President Director of PT PGE Teuku Muda Ariaman in North Aceh said the three oil and gas wells that will be exploited are one point in Baktiya District and two points in Syamtalira Aron District.

"The seismic survey of the three oil and gas points went well and smoothly, in accordance with the direction of the Acting Regent of North Aceh. The drilling will begin in the near future," he said, quoted from Antara, Friday, December 2.

Teuku Muda Ariaman expressed his gratitude to the Acting Regent of North Aceh Azwardi for supporting PT PGE's activities in exploring and exploiting oil and gas reserves in the area.

"The three points used to be drilled by the Oil Company in 1974. This point is what is working again because based on seismic results, oil and gas reserves have been detected," said Teuku Muda Ariaman.

According to him, drilling began in the last week of December 2022 and is expected to be completed in July 2023. The work begins with land preparation, preparation of road access that can enter heavy equipment, as well as mobilization of equipment.

"Heavy equipment was carried from Cilegon in Banten Province, transported by sea to Krueng Geukueh Port in North Aceh Regency and continued by road," said Teuku Muda Ariaman.

Teuku Muda Ariaman said drilling takes about 42 days on each well. Meanwhile, the drilling specifications are the same in each well, which is with a depth of about 7,000 feet.

The workers involved directly included 48 experts and 42 non-experts. To handle the work, PT PGE management signed other companies that have competence and experience in oil and gas drilling.

"Of course later there will also be local companies involved. Please direct and support from all parties so that this activity goes well, we really need support," he said.

Acting North Aceh Regent Azwardi appreciated PT PGE's drilling plan in the district. This drilling will revive the oil and gas zone in North Aceh Regency which once triumphed.

"Hopefully this will be an encouraging positive signal and will revive the North Aceh oil and gas zone. Hopefully this drilling can find natural gas reserves in our area," said Azwardi.

For this reason, Azwardi hopes that all relevant policy makers will collaborate on the success of the drilling. This is important, because every activity requires good cooperation.

"I hope there will be no conflict in the community regarding this drilling plan. For this reason, we are asked that the socialization process be carried out properly, what things will be done and how long will it take," said Azwardi.
