Denying The Opposite Of Entering Unila, Minister Of Trade Zulhas: Doesn't Know Prof. Karomani, Especially Paying Money

JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan denied entrusting his nephew to enter the State University of Lampung (Unila).

He admitted that he did not have a nephew who registered for the state university.

The rebuttal answered the statement from the Unila Chancellor, Prof. Karomani, who is also a defendant in a corruption case, giving testimony in the trial of the bribery case of the Unila Chancellor.

Karomani said Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan had entrusted his nephew.

"No nephew has registered for Unila," Zulkifli Hasan told VOI via text message, Thursday, December 1.

Zulhas, as Zulkifli Hasan is familiarly called, admitted that he did not have a nephew named Zaky Algifari as mentioned by Karomani.

"I don't have that name either," he said.

Zulhas also admitted that he did not know the figure of Karomani. He also emphasized that he had never given a bribe.

"Moreover, give me money. Also don't know Prof. Karomani," he said.

KPK Investigators and Prosecutors Will Investigate Zulhas' involvement

Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata confirmed the involvement of Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan or Zulhas in the bribery case for accepting new students at the University of Lampung (Unila) will be investigated.

Investigators and public prosecutors (JPU) will be asked to follow up.

"Let the investigators and prosecutors investigate later," Alexander Marwata told reporters, Thursday, December 1.

Alexander did not want to talk much about the mention of Zulhas' name at trial. He just made sure everything would be investigated.

Similarly, the Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, said that all parties who entrust prospective new students will be investigated. Every available information will be analyzed.

"Yes, of course (investigated, ed), because we make sure every fact of the trial will be analyzed in the letter of demand later," he said.
