The Construction Of The Solo-Semarang Phase 1 KA Doubles Line Is Targeted For The 2024 Village

JAKARTA - The construction of the double rail project (double track) Solo-Semarang train phase 1 of the Solo Balapan-Kalioso segment continues.

If it runs smoothly, it is targeted that the construction of the double line will be completed in 2024.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi reviewed the double rail construction project for the Solo-Semarang train phase 1 Solo Balapan-Kalioso segment for 10 kilometers (Km'sp) on Saturday, yesterday.

The arrival of Budi Karya to check the progress and ensure that development runs smoothly.

Of the 10 Kmsp, 1.8 Kmsp of the elevated railroad was built, above seven level crossings at Simpang Joglo, Solo, which is famous for its traffic jams.

With the construction of this elevated rail, it is hoped that it can overcome the congestion that has been happening so far

"Joglo intersection is the lifeblood of movement from Jakarta via Solo to Surabaya," said the Minister of Transportation at the location of the Solo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso Double Line Development Project in Viaduk Gilingan, Solo, Central Java, written on Sunday, November 27.

As of August 2022, the construction of the Solo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso railway doubles has entered phase two, namely the construction of a bridge substructure with steel frames (bondation and support poles for the main bridge along 270 meters).

Work will take six months from August 2022 to February 2023. The progress of the second stage of work as of November 25, 2022, reached 38.52 percent.

Project Rampung in 2024

Furthermore, in phase three, construction in the form of an direction for the steel frame is planned to start in February to July 2023 and continue with the main span direction from August to October 2023.

In addition, the construction of the Gilingan Viaduk on Jl. Ahmad Yani, Solo was also carried out by the Ministry of Transportation in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing which caused a temporary closure.

This work will increase the maximum height limit for passing vehicles from 3.7 meters to 4.2 meters.

With that height, the Gilingan Viaduk, Solo can be passed by large buses and will smooth the traffic from and to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a replica of the magnificent mosque in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which was built in the city of Solo.

"We hope that the construction of this reservoir can be completed in March 2023. This will facilitate people who will go to the mosque and vice versa. This will be one of the religious tours that will become a new attraction in the city of Solo," said Budi.

With this work, the Ministry of Transportation together with the Solo City Government have prepared traffic engineering to anticipate the impact of congestion from the construction of the Solo-Semarang elevated train at Simpang Joglo, Solo.

Overall, the construction of the Solo Balapan-Kalioso railway double line is targeted for completion in April 2024.
