PT PLN (Persero) is moving quickly to restore the power system that was extinguished due to landslides that occurred in Muara Batang Gadis District, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra.

"Based on the field team's report, a landslide occurred from Bulusoma to Sopot was stepped on. There were several power poles of medium voltage falling due to landslides," said PLN Manager of the Padang Sidempuan Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) Yusuf Hadiyanto, in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Saturday, November 26.

Yusuf said the landslide occurred on Friday, November 25 at around 15:31 WIB. Currently, officers are trying to restore the electricity network as a whole.

"The process of handling electrical disturbances is also hampered due to poor communication signals around areas affected by landslides," he said.

The PLN manager said that although the landslide was still ongoing, taking into account the safety of PLN officers' work, it continued to move in reducing the impact of the blackout due to landslides by transferring the load to the Hubung Silaping Substation.

"As of 20.00 WIB, PLN officers have managed to overcome some areas affected by blackouts, including 60 distribution substations that have been restarted from a total of 240 affected distribution substations. Currently, electricity for 6,694 customers has been supplied again to electricity," he said.

Yusuf added that PLN continues to coordinate with relevant agencies and the Mandailing Natal Regency Government in an effort to accelerate the recovery of electricity conditions by prioritizing security and safety in work.

"PLN is committed to providing the best service. Customers who need PLN services can report through the PLN Mobile application which can be downloaded via the PlayStore or AppStore," he explained.
