The Realization Of The TKDN Electricity Sector Capai 39.86 Percent

JAKARTA - Acting (Plt) Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana said, the realization of the use of domestic products or TKDN in the electricity sub-sector until the third quarter of 2022 reached 39.86 percent.

"In general, the realization of TKDN in the electricity sub-sector until the third quarter of 2022 has reached 39.86 percent of the 35 percent target," Dadan said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 23.

Dadan explained that this achievement includes TKDN for generators at PLTU, PLTA, PLTP, PLTG, PLTGU, and PLTS.

TKDN's achievements also include transmission which reaches 58.36 percent, substations at 52.52 percent, and electricity distribution at 60.53 percent.

The Director General of EBTKE at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources acknowledged the challenges of realizing the increase in TKDN in the electricity sub-sector. In fact, in some ways, he admits it is very challenging.

"Given the current situation, in some ways the resulting local products are not fully absorbed because in terms of prices, they are considered not to compete when compared to imported products," he said.

In addition, he continued, the quality of products that still do not get the trust, as well as the provision of goods and services that take longer to make domestic products in several cases are difficult to find a place.

"But earlier I heard directly from the President Director (Dammawan Prasodjo) specifically who was inside PLN there were plans to ensure that domestic products could be included in the PLN procurement system," he said.

Dadan stated that the conditions he mentioned also caused the executor of the electricity project to submit technical considerations or relaxation in fulfilling TKDN to the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin).

"This actually has the potential to reduce the achievement of TKDN value, especially for electricity sub-sectors," he said.

Dadan emphasized the need for synergy, collaboration, support, and openness from all parties.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also proposes the establishment of a forum that can bring together and facilitate the fulfillment of TDKN between infrastructure development business entities and domestic manufacturing producers as partners.

"We ensure that the market is formed, but this of course must also support investment on the upstream side. For example, the PLTS industry, which is quite large in the domestic market," he said.
