Reviewing Landslides Due To Earthquakes, The Minister Of PUPR Ensures That The Cianjur-Cipanas National Road Is Opened This Afternoon

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono inspected the landslide site due to the earthquake in Cugenang District, Cianjur, West Java.

During his visit, Basuki said that the focus of handling was carried out by excavators and dump trucks who were already in the field to continue cleaning trees and landslides that closed roads on the Cipanas-Cianjur section.

"As of 01.45 WIB, Tuesday, the total heavy equipment was working from two different sides (Cianjur's side in the south and the Cipanas side in the north) were six excavators and six dump trucks," Minister Basuki told the media, Tuesday, November 22.

Basuki ensured that this afternoon, Tuesday, November 22, 2022, landslide cleaning could be completed on the road, so that the Cianjur-Cipanas road segment could reopen.

"We can penetrate the section covered by landslides from 140-meter-long cliffs at two points this morning at 08.00 WIB. Now we focus on cleaning roads so that they can be passed from two directions, as well as evacuating bodies found buried by landslides," added PUPR Ministry Spokesperson Endra S. Atmawidjaja.

With the opening of the road, he hopes that the mobilization of medical aid, medical personnel, foodstuffs and clothing can be smoother.

In addition, the Ministry of PUPR has also deployed 6 General Hidran, 4 Water Tanks and 6 Portable Toilets which have also functioned in emergency evacuation tents, especially around the Regent's Hall and Cianjur Hospital.

Also accompanying today's early review, Director of Water Resources Jarot Widyoko, Expert Staff of the Minister of PUPR for Technology, Industry and Environment Endra S.
