Startup Efficiency Is Valuated For Ecosystem And Partner Sustainability

JAKARTA - The potential for a slowdown in the global economy next year has made companies in various sectors, especially technology, take a number of efficiency measures, one of which is through employee downsizing.

With efficiency or reducing its employees, the company can be more efficient in running its business. It can even provide greater benefits for partners. Then the company can also expand its reach, for example food delivery can be done throughout Indonesia," he said.

Beyond this, companies must have room to be optimistic by remaining aware of things that are beyond calculation, so that the wave of layoffs does not continue.

Because, as is known, so far startup companies have played a major role in building the economy through digitalization.

Meanwhile, the Economist of the Center for Innovation and the Digital Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) Izzudin Al Farhas Adha said that actually efficiency measures by various technology companies or startups had been carried out since the beginning of the year.

This can be seen from the promotions or incentives carried out by the company starting to decrease.

Looking at GoTo as an example, this local decacorn has started to be more efficient in terms of promotional costs, for example, providing promotions more targeted at loyal users. Likewise, Tokopedia, which is required to be more efficient in terms of cashback promotion and free shipping.

"So various efficiency measures have actually been taken before they reduce the number of workers. So this efficiency is indeed the most realistic way to make companies sustainable," said Farras.
