JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) Persero offers a green energy cooperation project to government representatives of several African countries, in a forum held after the G20 Summit.

According to the President Director of PT WIKA Agung Budi Waskito, Indonesia and Africa both have the potential for green energy products to be collaborated.

One of the products offered by WIKA is an electric motorcycle with zero emissions, GESITS.

The subscription can save as much as 66 percent compared to a fuel motorcycle. GESITS is very flexible and can support loads of up to 200 kilograms," said Agung at the Special Ministerial-CEOs Meeting: Emerging Economics Cooperation in Nusa Dua, Bali, quoted from Antara, Friday 18 November.

He said that GESITS is also suitable to be used as a mode of public transportation, and can be assembled locally based on demand in a country.

WIKA has succeeded in marketing GESITS motorcycles to countries in Asia, Oceania, and of course Africa.

Until 2022, we have sent 295 motorcycle units worldwide. In the context of the G20 event in Bali, we also sent more than 100 motorcycle units as a form of WIKA's commitment to supporting the use of green energy," said Agung.

In addition to electric motors, WIKA has sold 30,300 units of solar-powered water heaters not only in Indonesia, but also in other countries. This product controls 42.3 percent of the market share of solar-powered water heaters in Indonesia.

WIKA has also succeeded in marketing 32,000 units of solar-powered lights for outdoor lighting, some of which have been installed to support the World Superbike and MotoGP Event in Mandalika.

Then, WIKA has installed a photovoltaic solar power plant of 20 MWp at a price of 6.5 US dollars/MWp for installation and selling 200,000 mini solar system home units, as well as 1,000 units/year handy battery storage systems.

"These products are the work of WINNER (WIKA Industri Energi) which is part of the WIKA Group," said Agung.

WIKA views it as important to cooperate with international partners in line with its mission to actively develop foreign markets with business portfolios spread across Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa.

"We fully understand that future business development missions will increase significantly when we have the support of strategic partners who have the same vision and can establish productive collaborations in the future," said Agung.

A number of foreign projects that have been undertaken by WIKA include the renovation of the Niger Presidential Palace and the Sports complex in the Solomon Islands where solar panels will be installed on the roof of the building.

Furthermore, the state-owned enterprise built Oecusse International Airport in Timor Leste, the Indonesian Pavilion at the World Expo at The Arab Emirate Union, East West Motorway, and as many as 4,950 social home units in Algeria.

The Special Ministerial-CEOs Meeting: Emerging Economics Cooperation was held as part of Indonesia's commitment to embrace and advance the interests of developing countries during its becoming president of the G20.

During the meeting, representatives from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Rwanda, and the United Nations Development Agency attended.
