Growing 38.38 Percent, Digital Banking Transactions Sumbus A Figure Of IDR 5,184.1 Trillion

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) reported that the value of digital banking transactions or digital banking in October 2022 increased 38.38 percent compared to the same period the previous year (year on year/yoy). The value is IDR 5,184.1 trillion.

The transaction value of Electronic Money (EU) in the same period also grew 20.19 percent (yoy) to Rp35.1 trillion.

"The increase in digital banking and EU transactions is in line with the normalization of community mobility," said BI Governor Perry Warjiyo at the Announcement of the Results of the Board of Governors' Meeting (RDG) in November 2022, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 17.

Thus, he continued, digital economic and financial transactions have increased, supported by increased public acceptance and preference in online shopping, expansion and ease of digital payment systems, and acceleration of digital banking.

He emphasized that the use of the Quick Response Code Indonesia Standard (QRIS) continues to be encouraged, as well as continuing the development of QRIS features and services, including the expansion of QRIS between countries in line with the target of 15 million new QRIS users in October 2022.

Meanwhile, he said, the value of payment transactions using ATM cards, debit cards, and credit cards has increased 23.52 percent (yoy) to Rp691.6 trillion.

"BI continues to increase the efficiency of the payment system through strengthening policies and accelerating the digitization of payment systems to support inclusive economic growth," said Perry Warjiyo.

On the other hand, he revealed that the amount of circularized Kartal (UYD) in October 2022 increased by 6.04 percent (yoy) to reach Rp905.9 trillion. BI continues to ensure the availability of rupiah with maintained quality in all regions of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
