JAKARTA - The country's creative industry has started to stretch again after being hit by a pandemic in the last three years. This is marked by the increasing number of entertainment events, the growing number of cinemagoers, and the launch of products by creative industry business actors.

One of them was carried out by local Indonesian toy manufacturers, PT Royal Kreasi Cemerlang (RKC), through the launch of toys or figures of Sri Asih and Gundala, Indonesian superheroes from Jagat Bumi Langit whose live action has been lifted to the big screen.

The launch of the local superhero toy is part of the efforts of domestic creative business actors to support the development of local intellectual property (IP) to be better known and accepted, both by domestic and foreign markets. In addition, to provide new experiences to fans who have a figure of a local superhero who is currently being loved.

The statement was made by the Director of RKC Andrias Santoso, during the launch of the Sri Asih and Gundala toys, Thursday, November 17 in Jakarta. According to him, the two toys were produced to meet the market share of Indonesian superhero toy fans, whose demand is still quite high.

Andrias said that Sri Asih and Gundala's recently launched toys have a friendly and adorable appearance, so they are suitable for all groups. His presence with various poses makes this product suitable for collection or display on the desk and study desk.

"By carrying the Zigo brand, we produce two forms of pose for Sri Asih and 1 (one) pose for Gundala. The three can be obtained through the online store and the Indomaret minimarket network," he said.

To introduce its newest product, RKC will conduct a series of promotions through roadshows to several cities.

"In the roadshow, we will give a giveaway and hold various other promotional activities," added Andrias.

Like other RKC-made toy products, Andrias ensured, Sri Asih and Gundala's figure has good quality and safety standards. The reason is, RKC prioritizes 4 main aspects in every product it launches, namely environmentally friendly, safe to use, safe for children and toddlers, and certified SNI.

Andrias believes that local superhero toys in figure format have the opportunity to be more accepted by various groups, both adults and children.

Sri Asih and Gundala are local superhero figures from Jagat Bumi Langit who have been raised to the big screen. Sri Asih has been shown in theaters and enlivened the domestic film scene starting November 17, 2022, continuing the storyline of Jagat Bumi Langit, which made her debut through the film Gundala in 2019.

The figure of Sri Asih herself was created by legendary Indonesian comic RA Kosasih in 1950 and is said to be Indonesia's first superhero figure. Meanwhile, Gundala is a superhero figure who first appeared in Hasmi's comic made in 1969.

Furthermore, Andrias explained, the steps to develop Sri Asih and Gundala's toys could not be separated from the commitment of the RKC to support the progress of domestic toy products.

"The work on products is entirely carried out by local workers, both from factory workers, designers, and management. In addition, it also uses materials and materials that are one hundred percent from within the country. So it can be said, in addition to using local IPs, this product has a domestic content level of one hundred percent," he said.

According to Andrias, the company's efforts to prioritize the use of local resources are also carried out in other toy product production activities. During 30 years of working in the toy industry, RKC has partnered with many partners both nationally and internationally. During this period the company has released more than 170 toys and continues to maintain consistency as an original domestically quality toy producer.

In the future, he added, RKC will continue to develop new IP-based toy products and local resources.

"The RKC is ready to continue with IP and production that prioritizes local resources. We have a lot of potential that is not inferior to overseas," he concluded.
