581 Houses In Gowa Receiving New Electricity Pasang Assistance

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has distributed the Electricity New Installation Assistance (BPBL) program for the 2022 Fiscal Year to 581 households in Gowa, South Sulawesi.

"The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has planned as many as 3,860 households as prospective BPBL recipients for South Sulawesi Province, of which for Gowa Regency there have been 168 household connections spread across 14 sub-districts," said the Director of Electricity Concession at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jisman Hutajulu, in his statement, Friday, November 11.

He explained that BPBL for households could not be delivered to as many as 80,000 households spread across 22 provinces in Indonesia. In implementing this program, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources assigned PT PLN (Persero) to carry out procurement and installation activities for the 2022 Fiscal Year BPBL.

Meanwhile, General Manager of PLN's Main Distribution Unit for South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and West Sulawesi, Andy Adchamonoerdin stated that PLN is ready to carry out directions from the government so that it can flow electricity to the community.

"In South Sulawesi Province, there are 3,860 households that have received BPBL, for Gowa Regency they have received 581 connections. As of September 2022, RE in South Sulawesi is 99.83% and in Gowa RE Regency PLN is 99.91%", said Andy.

On the same occasion, Member of Commission VII of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia Ridwan Andi Wittri emphasized that one of the things that concerns him the most is electricity issues.

"There are no more people who do not enjoy independence at this time. If there are Gowa people who have not enjoyed electricity, there will be gaps," said Andi.

In addition to being expected to increase the electrification ratio, Jisman emphasized that the BPBL program is also expected to improve the standard of life and community independence.

"We note that there are still residents who distribute electricity from their neighbors because they are unable to pay for the cost of connecting new electricity, even though the PLN electricity network is already in front of the house.

By having access to electricity itself, Jisman stated that the Government hopes that the community will no longer depend on the provision of electricity from neighbors. Jisman asked village heads for help in submitting household data that had not yet been electrified to the Directorate General of Electricity

In the implementation of the First Implementation Ceremony, residents stated that they felt helped by BPBL so that they could be independent with their own electrical installation.

Abd Rahman (31), who works as a driver every day, said that previously he had connected electricity from his in-laws' house next to his house, but now he already has his own electricity.

"Thank you for the electricity from the government, it used to connect electricity from my mother-in-law's house. The use of electricity is allotted, it can't be done all the time. With the BPBL, our family is free to use water and electronic equipment without time limiting," he said.
