JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) will soon launch the Industrial Trust Index (IKI) at the end of November 2022. Later, IKI will be used to measure performance in the manufacturing sector.

"This is so that we can get more detailed information with the power of the data, so that the policies, interventions, and stimulus that we provide can be more appropriate," said Febri's Ministry of Industry spokesman Hendri Antoni Arif, in a written statement, quoted Thursday, November 10.

According to Febri, existing indexes still show global information, not detailed per industrial sub-sector, so the government has difficulty determining the right policies based on this information. In addition, it is also difficult for the Ministry of Industry to track which industries have filled out the questionnaires.

"Therefore, we made IKI as an index that can measure manufacturing performance in detail, by presenting data from 23 types of industrial sub-sectors based on KBLI dua Digit," he explained.

Febri also ensured that the Ministry of Industry fully maintains the security of information provided by the company, as well as other industrial data contained in SIINAS.

This is in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 3 of 2014, Articles 69 and 70 paragraph 2 concerning Industry, Law No. 16 of 1997 concerning Statistics, and Law No. 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure.

"We understand there are concerns regarding data security guarantees. The security of the SIINAs system currently has an ISO 27001: Information Security Management System. The Ministry of Industry also ensures that the human resources of the relevant apparatus are also bound by Non-Disclosure Agreement, as well as threats of administrative sanctions if conveying data that harms the company," he explained.

The filling of questionnaires, said Febri, is carried out from the 12th to 23th of each month through the National Industrial Information System portal (SIINAs).

"We can convey that the data reported to build IKI is perception data, not number data (levels)," he said.

IKI reporting itself is carried out by industrial companies through online questionnaires, which include company identity, industrial activity development, development of new order volume, development of production volume, development of product inventory volume, and business prospects over the next six months.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry also advised the company to fill out the IKI survey objectively in accordance with the company's conditions.

"The Ministry of Industry is always open to industry, together with industry, communicating about the various problems it faces," concluded Febri.

For your information, the Industrial Trust Index (IKI) launched by the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) is an indicator of the degree of belief or level of optimism of the manufacturing industry in economic conditions.

The Industrial Trust Index (IKI) is also a picture of the condition of the manufacturing industry and prospects for business conditions in Indonesia for the next six months.

So far, there are indeed indexes that reflect the company's productivity, but IKI presents more detailed information. The value of IKI is a reflection of the activities of industry players.
