Joining The B20 Energy, Sustainability And Climate Task Force, Pertamina Disbursed A Number Of Goals To Be Achieved

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) actively participates in Business 20 (B20) which is part of the G20 Summit. Even Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati was appointed as Chair of the Energy, Sustainable & Climate Task Force (Chair of the Energy, Climate, and Sustainability Task Force) in collaboration with global business leaders to handle policies related to energy and climate change.

Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development of PT Pertamina Power Indonesia (PPI) Fadli Rahman said this international business community forum is one of the forums of business entities to act as a driver of strong, sustainable, and balanced economic growth that supports the commitment to achieve Net Zero Emission and the development of New Renewable Energy.

"The appointment of Pertamina to lead the ESC Task Force is proof that this SOE has an important role in the success of global decarbonization," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday, November 8.

Fadli added, there are several goals that Pertamina hopes to achieve. One of them is the decarbonization business with the aim of energy efficiency, building green power plants, reducing reductions such as methan gas and others, electrification of fleets and static equipment, capture and carbon storage, and providing low carbon fuel for vehicles.

In addition, Pertamina is also developing new businesses in the field of new and renewable energy, EV Charging and Swapping, development of blue energy for manufacturing and transportation, Nature Based Solution, development of batteries and biofuels.

"We have also implemented carbon capture storage (CCS) and Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technology for oil and gas fields in Jatibarang," said Fadli.

Fadli added, Pertamina is also one of the biggest players in the field of new and renewable energy in Indonesia. Starting from the application of geothermal use in terms of oil and gas production, the use of solar panels (Solar PV) and the use of biogas.

"We are also cooperating with national and global partners to explore partnerships in decarbonization programs and accelerate EBT growth, to achieve Net Zero Emission," he added.

Fadli emphasized that as an energy company, Pertamina has a big responsibility to be a pillar of achieving net zero emissions in Indonesia, with the principle of affordability and fairness.

"All these achievements begin with developing a comprehensive Sustainability Policy that sets our goal to be recognized as an Environmentally Friendly Company, a Socially Responsible Company and a company that upholds Good Company Governance," concluded Fadli.
