JAKARTA - In order to continue to monitor rice prices, the trend of which tends to increase until October 2022, as reported by BPS, the National Food Agency together with the Minister of Trade and the Head of the Food Task Force along with the PJ Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, again held a working visit to the Cipinang Rice Main Market (PIBC), Monday, November 7th.

This was conveyed by the President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Pamrihadi Wiraryo on the sidelines of receiving a working visit from the Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi to the Cipinang Rice Main Market (PIBC) in order to monitor Supply Availability and Price Stabilization (KPSH) at PIBC.

"We want to know the progress of the KPSH implementation and its impact on rice prices in DKI Jakarta and its surroundings," said Arief Prasetyo Adi, in a written statement.

President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Pamrihadi Wiraryo said Food Station together with Perum Bulog and in collaboration with the Rice Market Merchants Cooperative (KOPPIC), Rice Mills Association (PERPADI) and the National Food Agency continue to strive to maintain stability in food prices, especially rice through the Supply Availability and Price Stabilization (KPSH) program by increasing the supply of rice to the market.

Pamrihadi said that since its inception, the distribution of KPSH rice has involved 64 traders at PIBC and has distributed 1,400 tons by October 2022, and we are targeting 3,000 tons of rice per week.

"Through the addition of 3,000 tons of supply per week, we believe this will restrain the increase in rice prices," he explained.

The Food Station in this case also conducts continuous monitoring based on the recording of rice prices even though they tend to increase.

Specifically for the DKI Jakarta area, the Jakarta Food Information noted that the price of rice today also rose. Price increases occurred for almost all types, only medium rice (IR.III/ IR 64) was reported to have decreased, so IDR 9,823 per kg.

Meanwhile, the price of IR.I (IR 64) rice rose by IDR 34 to IDR 11,545 per kg, Ramos (IR 64) rice rose by IDR 31 to IDR 10,646 per kg, and IR 42 rice rose by IDR 33 to IDR 12,433 per kg, Pera rose by IDR 62 to IDR 12,267 per kg, and Setra I/Premium rice increased by IDR 143 to IDR 12,325 per kg.

Meanwhile, BPS released, rice prices throughout October 2022 continued the upward trend. It was noted that the price of rice in the mill rose 1.86 percent on a monthly basis and 10.73 percent on an annual basis. At the wholesale level, rice prices also rose 1.62 percent on a monthly basis and 5.59 percent on an annual basis. Meanwhile, retail rice prices rose 3.52 percent on an annual basis and 1.13 percent on a monthly basis.
