Find New Oil And Gas Reserves In South Sumatra, SKK Migas Says There Is Possibility Of Additional Production

JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities or SKK Migas and the Sele Raya Belida KKKS have succeeded in discovering new oil and gas reserves through the drilling of the Sungai Jeruk Selatan-1 (SAS-1) well in Melilian Gelumbang Village, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra.

From the drilling results found oil content of 1983 BOPD and gas 1.3 MMSCFD with a tubing pressure of 150 psi.

The head of the SKK Migas Sumbagsel representative, Anggono Mahendrawan, said there was a possibility of additional drilling production to reach 2000 BOPD of oil because the tubing pressure was still increasing up to 600 psi.

"We have checked and Sele Raya has carried out a flowrate for 1 hour for test zone 1 of the SAS-1 well and the conditions are very good," Anggono said in an official statement quoted on Monday, November 7th.

Currently, said Anggono, the Sele Raya KKKS with the support of the SKK Migas Operations Division of the Sumbagsel Representative is conducting a Modified Isochronal Test (MIT) to determine the flow rate and development of the SAS-1 well.

Next week until the end of November, SKK Migas and Sele Raya Belida will preperforate or perforate the cement layer and are expected to find even better reserves.

"We don't forget to say thank you for the support from the regional government, the TNI, Polri, and stakeholders who have helped so that oil and gas were found in this region," said Anggono.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Well Drilling and Maintenance Operations Division, Surya Widyantoro said that the discovery of oil and gas through the SAS-1 well in Gelumbang, Muara Enim Regency is a breath of fresh air for the upstream oil and gas industry to continue to explore massively, aggressively and efficiently.

"The findings of oil and gas by the Sele Raya Belida KKKS are proof that this industry is very concerned about increasing national oil and gas production by conducting exploration," said Surya, Saturday.

Surya added that this finding could inspire oil and gas industry workers and other KKKS to continue exploring and exploiting oil and gas in order to achieve the target of 1 million barrels of oil and 12 billion cubic feet of gas in 2030.

"Congratulations for Sele Raya and hopefully other KKKS who are currently still exploring can follow," said Surya.

The drilling of the exploration well of South Anggur River-1 (SAS-1) has been carried out since May 2022, the drilling location is in the border area between Melilian Village, Gelumbang District, and Tapus Village, Lembak District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra.
