Save State Money At PNBP, KKP Dismantling The Forgery Of Ship Documents Worth Rp. 103 Million

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has succeeded in dismantling a syndicate of perpetrators of falsification of fishing permits (SIPI) on the North Coast (Pantura) of Java and North Sulawesi. Six people have been named suspects and Central is undergoing legal proceedings.

The Director General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision, Admiral Adin Nurawaluddin, said that this case was revealed at the time of checking the documents for the departure of fishing vessels at the port by the fisheries supervisor.

According to Adin, the case that occurred in Bitung began with a request for a business license for the sub-sector of fishing by the ship's owners to suspect two as brokers to be handled at the Bitung KKP One Stop Integrated Service (PTSP).

The suspect then falsified the business licensing document by scanning and editing the document. A total of 23 documents were falsified with transaction values for the falsification of this business licensing document amounting to Rp103 million.

Meanwhile, in the case that occurred in Pati, the suspect as the capital owner rented the KM ship and then bought a fake permit document.

It was stated that currently investigators and related police officers are hunting for one suspect with the initials T as the perpetrator of the fake document provider/maker.

"This act of falsifying fishery documents has harmed the state because caught fish are not recorded as non-tax state revenue (PNBP). In addition, this certainly disrupts the data on our potential fishery resources," he said.

Adin also said that his party would conduct an in-depth investigation to find the possibility of money laundering in the practice of counterfeiting and using fake business licensing documents carried out by the suspect. The KKP will cooperate with PPATK to track financial transactions in tracing the flow of funds used in this case.

"We express our appreciation to all parties in handling this case and hope that the synergy of law enforcement officers can continue to exist so that they can optimally eradicate violations in the marine and fisheries sector," he stressed.
