The Ministry Of Transportation Will Apply Odd Odds On 10 Roads During The G20 Summit

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will implement an odd-even system and limit the operation of goods transportation during the G20 Summit in Bali. This traffic regulation will be applied to 10 main roads.

Director of Road Traffic of the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Cucu Mulyana, said that the Ministry of Transportation had conducted a survey long ago, starting from the application of the survey to the issuance of a circular (SE).

From this survey, it is known that Bali has again been packed with tourists. A number of roads are monitored on, but still smoothly.

The policy is stated in Circular Number SE-DRJD 3 of 2022 concerning Traffic Regulations During the Implementation Period of the G-20 Summit for 2022 Bali, on October 31, 2022.

Furthermore, Cucu said, based on field surveys related to the increased mobility of road users in Bali along with the recovery of tourism in the area, traffic arrangements needed to be implemented.

This is to ensure smoothness and order during the implementation of the G20 Summit.

The traffic regulation through the implementation of the odd-even system and restrictions on the operation of goods transport are imposed simultaneously from November 11, 2022, to November 17, 2022, starting at 06.00 to 22.00 WITA.

"We pay attention to tourism in Bali which is starting to grow, so that traffic arrangements in addition to paying attention to the smoothness and order of the implementation of the Summit also want to maintain the economy that is growing in Bali," he said in Jakarta, Friday, November 4.

Cucu added that the trial of the odd-even scheme will be carried out on November 9 to 10, 2022, where on the 9th it starts at 11.00-16.00 WITA, while the 10th starts at 17.00-20.00 WITA.

The odd-even traffic arrangements and restrictions on goods transport are enforced on 10 main roads, namely: 1. Simpang Pesanggaran-Simpang Sanur;2. Kuta-Simpang Pesanggaran Intersection;3. Kuta-Tugu Intersection Ngurah Rai;4. Ngurah Rai-Nusa Dua;5. Pesanggaran-Bena Gate Intersection;6. Ngurah Rai Intersection (DPS)-Tugu;7.042 Jimbaran-Uluwatu;8. Bali Mandara Toll Road;9. Uluwatu II Street;10. Udayana Campus Highway. Not Applicable to Some Vehicles

Cucu explained that this traffic regulation does not apply to a number of vehicles such as vehicles belonging to the leadership of state institutions, ministers and leaders of non-ministerial government agencies, leaders and officials of foreign countries.

Then, official vehicles with red plates or TNI/POLRI service numbers, firefighters, ambulances, public transportation with yellow plates, G20 Summit vehicles, electric motorized vehicles, vehicles with disabilities, cranes, and vehicles for certain purposes.

However, said Cucu, operational restrictions on goods transport will be imposed on goods vehicles with a Heavy Number (JBI) of more than 8,000 kilograms, goods cars with three or more axes, goods cars with attached trains, cargo cars with transport trains, goods cars used to transport soil, sand, stones, mining materials, and building materials.

The operational arrangements for transporting goods do not apply to cars transporting fuel oil (BBM) or gas fuel, export and import goods from and to sea ports that handle exports and imports, bottled drinking water, livestock, fertilizers, delivery of posts and money, logistics needs of the G20 Summit, basic foodstuffs.

"If there is discretion or an exception in the event of a disaster or riot, this is something we must prepare. Traffic arrangements through odd-even and restrictions on the transportation of goods are stated by installing traffic signs in accordance with applicable regulations," said Cucu.
