Jambi Government Supports Jargas Development And PGN's Role In Jambi City

JAKARTA - Pertamina Gas Subholding, PT PGN Tbk, will develop household jargas development in Jambi City. This effort received full support from the Jambi City Government where the jargas program can help economic growth and the welfare of the people of Jambi City. Deputy Mayor of Jambi H. Maulana held an audience with the management of PT PGN Tbk represented by the Director of Infrastructure and Technology of PGN Achmad Muchtasyar regarding the development of gas in Jambi City on Wednesday at the PGN Office, Wednesday, November 2. “ We welcome warm people to talk about cooperation in the context of gas infrastructure development in Jambi City or city gas networks. So far, we have received 13,000 previous government programs. In the future, God willing, with good cooperation with PGN, we will add more household gas networks and gas needs in Jambi City can be met properly," said Deputy Mayor of Jambi, H. Maulana. H. Maulana continued, Jambi City consists of 11 sub-districts and has been filled with jargas, including Jelutung District, Kota Baru, Alam Barajo, Telanipura, and Lake Sipin. The Jambi City Government fully supports the construction of jargas and is committed to providing infrastructure land, MRS, and others. Conditions in the field, with the increase in the population of Jambi City, the needs of the people of Jambi City for Jambi City households are increasing, of course it is very appropriate for the development of the City Gas Network (City Gas). The people of Jambi City are also very enthusiastic about the desire to utilize natural gas or city gas networks. If there is business potential with BUMD, the Jambi City Government can also help bridge the gap. Currently, Sibinjai Sakti as one of the BUMDs is exploring a commercial scheme with PGN. According to PGN Infrastructure and Technology Director Achmad Muchtasyar, Jambi City is a potential area for gas network development where jargas is a government program. The people of Jambi City have also used jargas since 2014 with the APBN jargas program. “Artinya, untuk pembangunan jargas lanjutannya nanti tidak sulit lagi, karena masyarakat sudah sadar akan keuntungan, manfaat dan keunggulan dari jargas ini. Harapannya ke depan, pemerintah Kota Jambi bersama seluruh masyarakat memberikan dukungan agar kami bisa menyukseskan program jargas 1 juta SR di seluruh Indonesia. Di Kota Jambi, kami akan mulai masuk secepatnya,” ujar Achmad. In the near future, PGN will make a visit in Jambi and is planning to carry out the execution of jargas construction in 2023. The average use of natural gas in Jambi for households of approximately 9 - 18 M3 PGN is mapping out the supply and infrastructure of the gas. The government targets to build 1 million Home Connections (SR) per year. PGN targets the construction of 400,000 Home Connections with PGN's internal funding scheme. Meanwhile, 600,000 SR will be built using the KPBU scheme, private investment scheme or BUMD, and others. “Jargas as natural gas-based energy has a more competitive advantage than non-subsidized LPG and its installation is free such as the APBN jargas. PGN continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and is very open to partnerships related to gas network development. One of them, PGN has collaborated with Jaya Real Property for gas network development in Bintaro,” explained Achmad. Achmad hopes that the existence of PGN jargas can encourage potential growth in commercial customers, to industry. Thus, the use of natural gas in various sectors can help the economy in society. The Jambi City Government strongly supports the addition of the development of the city gas network in Jambi City. The existence of gas can ease the burden on the community, thus helping the economic growth of the people of Jambi City, because it uses competitive, clean energy, and eliminates public concerns about the scarcity of LPG gas.
