Anticipate Food Crisis, ID FOOD Invites United Arab Emirates Companies To Product Agriculture In West Java

JAKARTA - Food SOE Holding ID FOOD established business cooperation with companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Elite Agro LLC. Through this collaboration, both agreed to expand the food ecosystem to the global level through the agribusiness sector. Deputy Minister of SOE I Pahala N. Mansury welcomed the steps of BUMN food ID FOOD in expanding cooperation with G20 member countries in the food sector. Pahala said, this is an effort by state-owned companies to anticipate the food crisis. "This is a form of collaboration between SOEs and the G20 countries as support for BUMN in anticipation of the food crisis through an integrated food ecosystem," said Pahala in an official statement received by VOI, Tuesday, November 1. Meanwhile, the President Director of Food Holding ID FOOD, Frans Marganda Tambunan, added that the cooperation scheme between ID FOOD and Elite Agro LLC is through the management and optimization of agricultural land belonging to ID FOOD Group located on the island of Java for agribusiness development. "So there is an agricultural land of about 500 hectares managed by ID FOOD Group in the West Java region for us to optimize the development of the agribusiness sector, cooperation with Elite Agro LLC," explained Frans.

Frans said this agreement also includes technology cooperation for on-farm and off-farm, increased roles as offtakers, as well as investment and working capital for increased food crop production including post-harvest processes and export market development. "As our commitment in expanding collaboration to strengthen food ecosystems, we will continue to open up opportunities for cooperation with other G20 member countries as our support in anticipating the global food crisis," he concluded. Previously, Frans said he supported the G20 country to anticipate the food crisis, the scheme was through strengthening food technology, technology exchange through transfer of knowledge between G20 countries, research cooperation in the context of business development of the upstream and downstream food sectors, utilization of Representative Offices (RO) in G20 countries, to increasing trade sector cooperation with G20 members.
