Babel Timah Exports Up 72.70 Percent As Of August 2022

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province noted that the export value of pure tin bars in August 2022 reached 205.59 million US dollars, an increase of 72.70 percent compared to the previous month's 119.04 million US dollars. "The export of Babel in August this year is still dominated by pure tin," said Head of BPS for the Province of the Babylon Islands, Toto Haryanto Silitonga, in Pangkalpinang, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, November 1. He said the export value of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in August 2022 was US$262.21 million, or down 19.13 percent compared to the same month the previous year (August 2021) US$324.25 million. "The decline was influenced by the decline in tin commodity exports by 205.59 million US Dollars in August 2022, down 27.47 percent compared to the same month the previous year," he said. On the other hand, non-timal commodity exports were recorded at 56.62 million US dollars, an increase of 38.72 percent in the same period the previous year. "From January to August 2022, the role of lead and non-timah in Babel exports was 87.45 percent and 12.55 percent, respectively," he said. He stated that China is still the main destination for the export of tin from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. As much as 32.85 percent of tin exports in January-August 2022 were sent to the Bamboo Curtain Country. "When compared to the same period the previous year, tin exports to China this year rose 2,973.20 percent," he said. Meanwhile, Singapore, India, South Korea, and Japan are in the top five countries for tin export in January-August 2022. The roles of the four countries ranged from 8.47 percent to 17.42 percent. "In total, the main five countries for the export of lead from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province played 80.02 percent," he said.
