Denpasar City Government Removes Administrative Sanctions For Business Actors To Support The G20 Summit

JAKARTA - The Denpasar City Government, Bali, has issued a policy of eliminating interest administrative sanctions or fines of a number of taxes payable to business actors and the public to support economic activity ahead of the implementation of Indonesia's G20 Summit/Presidency.

"In order to support the activities of the G20 Summit and in the context of Heroes' Day, the Denpasar City Government carried out a breakthrough innovation in the form of tax fiscal incentives," said Head of Denpasar City Regional Revenue Agency I Gusti Ngurah Eddy Mulya in Denpasar, quoted from Antara, Saturday, October 29.

The program to abolish interest administrative sanctions or payable tax fines will be implemented starting November 1, 2022.

He stated that the abolition of administrative sanctions on interest or tax fines owed consisted of Landwater Taxes, Hotel Taxes, Restaurant Taxes, Entertainment Taxes and Parking Taxes with the provisions of the tax period from January 2020 to the November 2021 tax period.

In addition, the abolition of administrative sanctions on interest or tax fines that are payable also applies to Rural and Urban Land and Building Taxes with tax provisions starting in 1991 until the tax stipulation in 2021.

"To be known together that the policy of eliminating administrative sanctions on interest or tax fines that are payable will take effect from November 1 to December 30, 2022," said Eddy Mulya.

The Denpasar City Government through the Regional Revenue Agency appealed to business actors and the public to take advantage of this opportunity as well as possible to pay off outstanding taxes. This is considering the relatively short period of policy time.

He hopes that this tax relief program can increase the awareness of taxpayers in making payable taxes.

"There will be many benefits obtained. Apart from participating in building Denpasar City, of course it is also safer because its assets are recorded in the system, and also if you want to make buying and selling transactions, it is easier because there are no arrears," he said.
