The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is said to have just launched the Information Facilities for Literacy and Financial Education (Simolecular) Edutainment in the Square of Karanganyar Regency, Central Java.

Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Mahendra Siregar in his remarks said this effort was part of a series of activities for the 2022 Financial Inclusion Month (BIK).

According to him, to overcome the problem of the many practices of moneylenders and illegal online loans, it is necessary not only to increase financial access by the financial services industry, but also to provide education and financial literacy.

"What must be done together is simplification in terms of the approach of the financial services industry itself and through Simolecular Affairs to improve education and financial literacy for the community," he said in a written statement on Sunday, October 23.

Mahendra added that the use of the Simolecular Edutainment was also adjusted to the character of the local area.

"This is important considering that the delivery of education to the public is associated with arts and local culture entertainment so that it can be easier to convey materials," he said.

On the same occasion, the Regent of Karanganyar Juliyatmono expressed his appreciation as well as hope by launching a Simolecular Edutainment car in Karanganyar.

"So that people can be educated, get good added value and the banking task is how the economy runs quickly and smoothly, the mobility is fast so that people can also save their money very well," said Juliyatmono.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Commission XI DPR RI, Dolfie Othniel Fredric Palit, said that in the midst of the current economic recovery conditions, education and financial literacy are needed by the community.

"We are grateful to OJK for taking the initiative to expand education to the public and financial literacy through the launch of Simolecular today, so that the public can distinguish between legal financial services, which financial services are illegal, and if they have been deceived how to overcome them," he said.

For information, currently the authorities have handed over 54 units of Simolecular cars that have been equipped with visual audio devices throughout Indonesia through OJK representative offices in various regions.

During the event, the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Mahendra Siregar symbolically handed over the Simolecular car to the Head of the Solo OJK Eko Yunianto for further use in the implementation of education and financial literacy in the Solo Raya Region.
