JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) provided the Electricity New Installation Assistance (BPBL) program to 3,281 households in Central Kalimantan.
This assistance aims to increase the electrification ratio, one of which is through the construction of facilities for providing electricity in undeveloped areas, especially remote areas and borders.
"For Central Kalimantan Province, 3,281 households will receive free electricity installs through the State Budget of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2022," said the Director of Electricity Entrepreneurship Development Jisman Hutajulu in an official statement, Thursday, October 20.
Jisman revealed, of the 3,281 households (RT) candidates for BPBL recipients for Central Kalimantan Province, Murung Raya Regency, they will get 1,159 household connections spread across 6 sub-districts.
Previously, based on the results of the Working Meeting of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources with Commission VII of the DPR RI on September 27, 2021, it agreed to the 2022 APBN allocation for the Electricity New Installation Assistance Program (BPBL) for poor households without electricity as many as 80,000 RTs spread across 22 provinces.
In implementing this program, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources assigned PT PLN (Persero) to carry out procurement and installation activities for the BPBL for Fiscal Year 2022.
On that occasion, Expert Retail Sumatra Kalimantan PT PLN (Persero) Agus Sutiawan said, PLN is ready to carry out directions from the government in order to distribute electricity to the public.
"We, PLN as the operator, will carry out all government directives. We ask for support from together," said Agus representing the President Director of PT PLN (Persero).
On the same occasion, member of Commission VII DPR Willy M Yoseph said, building electricity infrastructure requires the support of all parties.
"It is hoped that the agreement of all, so that all to focus on mapping electricity in their area, so that those who do not yet exist, immediately build electricity," said Willy.
