JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir received a visit from the Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono at the Ministry of SOEs office, Wednesday, October 19.

During the meeting, the two of them held a number of discussions at the meeting. One of them is related to transportation.

Erick said his meeting with Heru was a form of the government's seriousness in building an integrated public transportation ecosystem.

Erick said, the collaboration between BUMN and the DKI Provincial Government is in line with the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to synchronize transportation owned by BUMN and DKI Jakarta BUMD.

"As I have often said, the success of the government when we work together to make the best program for the community. If media friends remember, at that time a week after taking office, I also came to the office of the previous Governor of DKI, Pak Anies, according to the President's direction to synchronize the transportation that BUMN has with the local government," said Erick.

Erick explained that this meeting was to ensure and increase the cooperation that had been established between the provincial government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta and BUMN.

Moreover, he continued, the plan is for public transportation in Jakarta to be connected to each other, in this case TransJakarta, MRT, KRL, Airport Train, and KAI.

"This is one of them, Mr. Heru is here to ensure and increase the cooperation that has occurred. Because we cannot possibly depend on public and private vehicles but trains and others do not," he said.

Reflecting on developed countries such as Britain and Singapore, said Erick, when public transportation has synergized completely can facilitate passenger access so that it can reduce private vehicles.

"It is impossible to prohibit people from reducing private vehicles but transportation is generally not ready," he said.

In addition, the two of them also discussed state assets.

Erick added that the government plans to carry out a new design starting from the BUMN Ministry building to the Monas Monument to become an environmentally friendly public area.

"So that we can reduce the burden on the business center at only one point. Imagine from Sarinah, to the independent bank, to Monas, until here we can imagine. Monas will certainly be a green part of the public area. The green is not a responsibility. At Senayan the GBK complex is good. This is what we want to implement in our place. We are trying to synchronize this," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono admitted that he had scheduled it and had previously asked Erick for time to meet.

This is because he wants the collaboration between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and BUMN which has been running well to continue to be more optimal.

"I ask for directions from the Minister of SOEs and synergize what we can do for the public and strengthen public transportation and others. There are stages, we will detail them later. We will definitely often go to the Minister of SOEs and your staff to explore," said Heru.
