Jokowi Got A Report From Washington DC: IMF Patient Membludak 28 Negara, Is Indonesia Ada RI?

JAKARTA President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that the current continued uncertainty has put pressure on many countries. In fact, the pressure received is not uncommon for it to be managed independently.

As a result, a number of countries ask for support from others to be able to help manage the risks they face. One of the most likely is to apply for financial facilities to international financial institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The President said, not one or two countries that are currently hoping for liquidity injections from the IMF, but the number is in a row of dozens. He revealed this when speaking at the 2022 Daily Summit Investor forum which was held in Jakarta today.

"This morning I received information from a meeting in Washington DC, there were 28 countries that had lined up at IMF headquarters to become patients," said the Head of State in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 11.

According to the President, this condition cannot be separated from the projection of the global economy which has not shown a significant recovery and even decreased corrections. Even so, Indonesia is said to be still classified as capable of managing risks supported by the capability of the state budget which has benefited from windfall since the end of last year.

"But we must remain careful and vigilant," he said.

According to VOI records, Indonesia received a windfall profit of around IDR 425 trillion thanks to rising prices for Indonesian export commodities such as coal and CPO. The funds are then managed by the 2022 State Budget to be distributed to various sectors, such as subsidies, social assistance, to the health sector.

This strategy was taken to reduce the shock of world energy prices so that they are not immediately forwarded to the community, which is feared to disrupt purchasing power and also the national economic recovery process.
