Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road Immediately Operating, Hutama Karya Gencar Campaigns Purchase Habits In Accordance With Rules

JAKARTA - The Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road will soon be operated by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) as the manager of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS). Based on data from the Toll Road Management Agency (BPJT) of the Ministry of PUPR, the progress of the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road has reached 84.42 percent and will be completed soon.

Previously, Hutama Karya had also operated the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road since 2020 and became the first toll road on Bumi Lancang Kuning.

Director of Operations III Hutama Karya, Koentjoro explained that his party is currently waiting for directions from the regulator before the toll road is operated.

Furthermore, Koentjoro said the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road and the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road were still relatively new, especially for the people of Riau. Koentjoro assessed that this would affect the attitude of motorists in the area.

Therefore, according to Koentjoro, it is necessary to build a driving habit according to the rules on toll roads. For example, related to driving speeds that are different from national roads, as well as other rules that must be understood.

"That's what we have done in the last 2 years by providing intense education to road users, through the SETUJU Campaign (Congratulations to our destination) until now," said Koentjoro, Thursday, October 6.

Regarding the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road, Koentjoro said Hutama Karya had made a number of preparations before this toll road was operated. One of the preparations in question is to prepare optimal human resources (HR).

Furthermore, Koentjoro said that providing training or training to prospective employees on the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road would be carried out for 37 days.

The training includes the opportunity, services, emergency, mechanical and electrical handling, transaction systems and toll equipment to rescue and crane training.

"In addition to theory, in this training, practical or simulation handling is also carried out by involving several experienced practitioners in their fields so that prospective employees can be on standby in the field and are really equipped with the expertise and ability to operate toll roads according to Minimum Service Standards (SPM) on toll roads," he said.
