Rice Stock In Natuna Reaches 600 Tons, Enough Until The End Of The Year

NATUNA - The Logistics Affairs Agency (Bulog) has prepared 600 tons of rice for food availability in Natuna, Riau Islands Province, and it is certain that it will be sufficient until the end of 2022.

"Currently ships carrying rice loads are also loading and unloading at Sedanau port as much as 200 tons, in the near future they will also enter again from the central Bulog warehouse in Jakarta as much as 200 tons with a total availability of nearly 600 tons of rice in the current warehouse," said Head of Bulog Ranai, Sri Wahyuni, as quoted from Antara, Sunday, October 2.

She said the number of rice sales so far is still in normal condition because the level of purchasing power of Bulog's rice is only about 120 tons per month.

"The current supply of rice in the warehouse is estimated to be sufficient until the end of December 2022," she said.

In addition, according to the head of Bulog, rice supplies are placed in two different locations, including the Bulog Sedanau warehouse and the Bulog Ranai warehouse to facilitate distribution to reach the entire Natuna area.

She also ensured that the needs of the community throughout Natuna Regency currently have safe stocks.

The reason is, according to data held by Bulog Ranai, the need for Bulog rice by Natuna residents is not too high.

"Because not all people consume Bulog's rice, as far as we know, we see the sales report is at least 80 tons or 90 tons a month," she said.

Although not all people consume Bulog's rice, she emphasized that as an institution in charge of logistics, Bulog remains committed to preparing rice for the community.
