JAKARTA - The National Food Agency (Bapana) continues to increase the facilitation of live birth absorption or live chickens for micro and small independent farmers.

Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi said that up to now 67,368 live chickens have been absorbed or 190,000 kilograms (kg).

"The absorption rate continues to increase significantly, this is in line with the increase in in integrator companies that absorb," said Arief, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 30.

Bapanas only absorbed 15,000 or 26,000 kg on September 26, now it has penetrated 67,000 heads or 190,000 kg.

This action will continue to be carried out and increased until the price of chickens in micro and small independent breeders stabilizes.

Based on Live Bird NFA absorption data, as of September 29, 2022, 10 companies consisting of 2 Food SOE member companies and 8 private companies have been absorbed.

On September 28, 2022, two companies members of the Food SOE Holding ID FOOD, namely PT Indonesia Trading Company (PPI) and PT Berdikari, have absorbed a total of 4,995 or 10,000 kg.

Meanwhile, 8 private companies that have absorbed, namely PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia (CPI) as many as 24,494 or 36,000 kg, PT Japfa Comfeed as many as 18,250 or 32,000 kg, PT Malindo Feedmill as many as 6,016 or 11 thousand kg.

Then PT Super Unggas Jaya as many as 1,428 or 3,000 kg, PT New Hope Indonesia as many as 1,742 or 3,000 kg, PT Intertama Trikencana Bersin as many as 6,078 or 89,000 kg, PT Sreeya Sewu as many as 6,360 or 10,000 kg, and PT Wonokoyo as many as 3,000 or 5,000 kg.

This absorption mechanism, according to Arief, is carried out by business to business (B to B) directly between breeders/operations and integrator companies.

In this case, Bapanas acts as a facilitator or liaison, so that the process of absorbing livestock is carried out effectively.

The Food SOE and the integrator company as the offtaker made purchases at the centers of micro and small independent breeders. The purchase refers to the agreed Purchase and Sales Accussion Price (HAP). Furthermore, the chicken that has been produced is distributed by each company to the outlets that are partners," said Arief.

This action of absorbing live chickens is a form of government siding with micro and small independent farmers.

When the price of live chickens at the farmer level is indicated to fall, Bapanas immediately held a meeting with all national gas stakeholders, including associations, farmer cooperatives, private business actors and SOEs, as well as related ministries and institutions.
