JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) together with Commission VII of the DPR RI agreed to increase the number of new electricity connections for underprivileged communities to 83,000 households (RT) by 2023.

This number increased by 3,000 RTs from the previous year as many as 80,000 houses.

"The infrastructure activity ceiling for the 2023 fiscal year is IDR 1.67 trillion from the previous IDR 1.86 trillion rating results. The infrastructure costs will be used for the distribution of commercial kits for fishermen and farmers, new electrical installation assistance (BPBL), construction of Solar Power Plants (PLT) / Micro Hydro, Information on Jalan Umum-Tenaga Surya (PJU-TS), Electric Power Distribution Equipment Equipment (PPAL) and modern distribution of clean energy cooking services," said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif in a written statement, Friday, September 23.

From the available infrastructure budget, the Government and Commission VII of the DPR agreed to increase the volume and budget for Electricity New Installation Assistance (BPBL) from the previous fiscal year, 2022 by 80,000 SR to 83,000 SR in the 2023 fiscal year.

"There is 83,000 units of new electricity for the underprivileged with a total budget of Rp. 201.65 billion," continued Arifin.

The Working Meeting led by Bambang Haryadi also agreed on a budget for the construction of an integrated Solar Power Plant (PLTS) / Hydro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) in the 3T area as many as 12 units with a budget of Rp. 94,44 billion and increasing the construction of PJU-TS to 31,072 units with a budget ceiling of Rp. 500.45 billion.

Arifin expressed his gratitude for all the agreements that have been reached and is committed to immediately implementing the pre-DIPA auction process so that development can be carried out immediately so that the community can receive the benefits.

"The additional expenditure of Rp. 4.4 billion is fully used for infrastructure for the community. Our commitment is to immediately implement the infrastructure procurement process in 2022 through the pre-DIPA auction so that in early 2023 it can run and the community can immediately benefit from it," explained Arifin.
