MANADO - Head of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Representative of North Sulawesi, Mario Iroth, said capital market investors in the area grew by 38 percent in August 2022.

"Total stock investors in North Sulawesi as of August were 30,260, up 38 percent compared to total investors as of August 2021, which was only 21,925", Mario said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 22.

Mario explained that the number of stock market investors in North Sulawesi from January to August 2022 increased by 3,478 stock investors, or grew by 13 percent compared to the same position last year.

He explained that stock investors in North Sulawesi are dominated by young people, namely 18-25 years old, or about 30.4 percent of the total investors. Meanwhile, in terms of gender, male investors dominate compared to women by 52 percent.

When viewed from the side of work, many private employees in North Sulawesi are stock investors, amounting to 33.3 percent, followed by students at 31.3 percent.
