SURABAYA - The income of low-income people (MBR) participating in a labor-intensive program in the form of making paving in the city of Surabaya, East Java, reached Rp. 6 million to Rp. 7 million per month.
Head of Road and Bridge Division (DSDABM) Surabaya Water Resources and Highways Service (DSDABM) Adi Gunita said he was grateful that the labor-intensive program launched by the Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi several months ago reaped results.
"We are grateful that MBR, who is a member of a busy program group made by paving, managed to reap a turnover or revenue of Rp. 6 million to Rp. 7 million per month," Adi said in a statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 21.
Adi explained that in the Tambaksari sub-district, there are two labor-intensive groups of paving that have been formed. Currently, the production of the paving of these two groups has been running after two months in advance receiving training from the Surabaya City Government.
"From the MBR, we have carried out training related to paving production, and two joint business groups have been formed in Tambaksari District. We have also carried out legality assistance related to their Business Identification Number (NIB)," said prayer.
In addition to legality, Adi said that the city government also helped facilitate the paving-intensive business group in order to get capital assistance from the People's Credit Bank (BPR) Surya Artha Utama. Each group consisting of six people also received capital assistance of Rp. 15 million for the paving production business.
"From each group, IDR 15 million received capital assistance. So each person received around IDR 2.5 million. Meanwhile, there were 12 people from two groups in Tambaksari District," he said.
Adi also explained that the capital originating from the BPR Surya Artha Utama was used by labor-intensive groups to buy paving materials. Then, for the equipment provided by the Surabaya City Government as a result of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Meanwhile, for the production site, they use land assets belonging to the Surabaya City Government.
"So for our capital, we are related to friends from BPR Surya Artha Utama. Meanwhile, regarding the equipment, we synergize with stakeholders asking for CSR and there have been 2 equipment assistance provided," said Adi.
Since it started running in July 2022, their paving production has shown significant results. Even as of September 2022, the turnover of one of the dense groups by paving in Tambaksari reached Rp6 million to Rp7 million per person.
