Telkom Street Internet Network During The G20 Summit

BADUNG - Telkom Indonesia has prepared a layered internet network to anticipate internet connection disruption during the G20 Summit in Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, on November 15-16, 2022. Telkom Indonesia President Director Ririek Adriansyah said, there are at least four Internet access routes from Bali to the outside so that if there is a disturbance there are several alternatives that can still be used by the participants of the G20 Summit.

On the same occasion, Ririek conveyed that his party is also preparing high-speed WiFi connections and 5G networks, especially in places where the main event of the G20 Summit and side events of the G20.

"For the G20 Summit, in various venues that are indeed used, there are thousands of WiFi that we have deployed (installed). That is in accordance with the request of the Ministry of Communication and Information," Ririek said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, September 20.

So far, Ririek explained, preparations from Telkom for the G20 Summit are almost 100 percent.

He said he was optimistic that all preparations would be completed before the event took place.

This preparation is close to 100 percent. This is also a BATIC (Bali Annual Telkom International Conference) event, and next month there will be a side event G20 (which is leading sector) of the Ministry of SOEs around October. We have simulated various things, said Ririek.

Not only holding simulations, Telkom will also alert officers and establish command posts around the location of the G20 Summit to accelerate coordination if later there are telecommunications network disturbances including Internet disturbances.

"There is also a command post that oversees this (G20 Summit), and in stages from (officers in the field) on field to those (assed at) the head office," he said.

He also said that his party had prepared so that the available Internet connection would later meet the needs above normal usage.

"We don't know exactly, but the capacity is several times higher than (the use) normal. We predict that the increase is quite high, because there are many participants, and the target of the government experience (user experience) must be much better than before," said Ririek.

The G20 summit, which is the G20 Summit (KTT/Leaders Summit), will be centered at the Apurva Kempinski Hotel, Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, on November 15-16.

Not only at Kempinski, but the series of G20 Summit activities will also take place in BNDCC and BICC, also in Tahura Mangrove, Denpasar, and Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), Badung.
