JAKARTA - PT Damai Swallow Sentosa (DWS) which operates in Deliserdang, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) is preparing to export 24 tons of swallow nests per year.

He said that after accompanying Inspector General of the Ministry of Pertania, Jan Samuel Maringka made a visit to the swallow processing industry owned by DWS in Percut Sei Tuan, Deliserdang Regency, North Sumatra.
According to Lenny, PT DWS plans to export the swallow to the People's Republic of China (RRT).
For the export process, the DWS management has registered with the General Administration of Chinese Customs (GACC) of RRT and is just waiting for an audit.
"If the audit is complete and the export of DWS waletes is allowed, then North Sumatra's swallow exports will increase," he said.
Prior to DWS, there were already two companies from North Sumatra that exported swallows.
The export volume of North Sumatra's swallow nests from January to July 2022 is 40.562 tons. The total export with 196 shipments was worth Rp. 581.418 billion.
In 2021, exports of swallow nests from North Sumatra will be 301,058 tons, with a delivery frequency of 1,313 times worth Rp3,723 trillion.
Exports of North Sumatra swallow nests to the United States, Australia, RRT, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, France, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam.
President Director of PT DWS, Nelly Sudarty accompanied by Commissioner Handoko said, the company targets to export 24 tons of swallow nests per year for the purpose of exporting the swallow to the RRT.
"After all this time it is still being marketed locally, it is hoped that the swallow nests can be exported soon," he also said.
Nelly admitted, if it is exported, then the company's production will no longer be sold to local markets to focus and maintain competition.
