JAKARTA - Blue Bird's subsidiary, PT Pusaka Bumi Transport, has entered the heavy equipment assembly business for mining through collaboration with Russian heavy equipment company Chetra.
Managing Director of the Bumi Transport Heritage, Bambang Nuryono, in a statement to reporters in Jakarta, Thursday, September 15, said that the Transportation Earth Heritage will deploy heavy equipment from Russia to be marketed at domestic and Asian mining companies.
"It was carried out in Sumatra, for coal mining," said Bambang, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 16.
Bambang said previously that Pusaka Bumi Transport had become a distributor of very heavy equipment, Chetra, to sell domestically. However, the memorandum of understanding signed this time is a plan for the assembly of these heavy equipment.
By conducting domestic assembly, said Bambang, it is hoped that the selling price of heavy equipment can be more competitive in the midst of the mining industry which is currently resurging.
Bambang has not mentioned the investment value for the assembly of heavy equipment, but the project is expected to start running in 2023.
VP Bussines Development Pusaka Bumi Transport Sergey Galstyan said the memorandum of understanding that had been signed by Chetra and the Transportation Earth Heritage would later become a reference for the construction of a bulker factory in Indonesia.
"Currently we are signing an MOU between PT Pusaka Bumi Transport and Chetra Rusia. So we have plans for the establishment of a bulldozer factory next year here, in Indonesia," said Sergey.
Bambang explained that later the factory would produce heavy equipment which would be marketed to several Asian countries. "Because from Indonesia to the market, it is closer to around Asia in terms of logistics," said Bambang.
