Financial Industry Deposits Down, OJK Budget Tracing Rp22 Billion

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reports that there has been a decline in the financial industry sector contributions throughout the first semester of 2022.

Deputy Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners Mirza Adityaswara said that this had an effect on the authority's budget this year which had been designed previously. According to him, there are at least Rp22 billion of OJK budgets shrinking in the second semester of 2022 according to the latest projections.

There are a few that don't match the projection, namely in revenue, around Rp22 billion. This happens because there is indeed a pandemic in making budget projections and assets from the financial sector, it turns out that it is not as big as what was expected at that time so that there is a difference," he said at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta during a working meeting with Commission XI of the DPR quoted Friday, September 9.

Mirza explained that previously the OJK budget that had been approved was IDR 6.32 trillion. So with the latest updates it is believed that it will decrease to IDR 6.30 trillion.

"Well, something has to be reduced for the expenditure side," he said.

Mirza detailed that the latest budget projections will be distributed in the four main types of OJK activities, namely operational activities of Rp521.8 billion, administrative activities of Rp5.2 trillion.

Then, asset procurement activities of IDR 543.5 billion, as well as other supporting activities of IDR 80.9 billion.

On the same occasion, Commission XI of the DPR finally approved the adjustment of the OJK budget for the second semester of the 2022 period.

"The Commission XI of the DPR RI approved the adjustment of the OJK budget for 2022 of Rp6.30 trillion," said the chairman of the trial Kahar Muzakir giving approval.
