JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Andre Rosiade, asked the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir to immediately execute the construction of Pertashop for fishermen. The goal is to launch the fuel distribution chain to fishermen so that it becomes more targeted and priced. As is known, the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs and Pertamina collaborated to launch a program called Solar for Fisherman Cooperatives (Solution). This program is a form of quick steps by the government to find solutions in the midst of reducing fuel subsidies for the wealthy. With this Solution program, every fisherman will get an affordable fuel price. "Yesterday in a meeting with the Minister of Cooperatives, we have proposed the construction of a Pertashop for fishermen to Mr. Teten. This requires collaboration from the Minister of SOEs and Pertamina on how to ease the burden on fishermen," said Andre, during the Commission VI Working Meeting with the Minister of SOEs in Senayan, Jakarta, quoted Friday, September 9. So far, continued Andre, the majority of fishermen throughout the country are screaming because of high prices and difficulties in obtaining diesel for fishing activities. For example, when the diesel price is still Rp. 5,000 per liter, fishermen must be willing to spend Rp. 7,000 to Rp. 10,000 per liter to buy diesel at retailers. Meanwhile, the government has decided to increase the diesel price to Rp. 6,800 per liter. Therefore, Andre also asked for an increase in fuel to be a momentum for the government to improve the distribution of fuel for fishermen. "Make this momentum to reform diesel distribution for fishermen. How fishermen have no trouble getting cheap diesel, so that throughout Indonesia fishermen's Pertashop is built, where this Pertashop is owned by fishermen's cooperatives," explained the chairman of the West Sumatra Gerindra Party DPD. Andre believes that with the construction of Pertashop for each fishing cooperative, the fishermen will have no trouble finding fuel and being able to get it at a low price. "So in every fishing village there is a fishing cooperative that has a fishing Pertashop. So what, the investment is cheap and fishermen get diesel at a low price, no longer from retailers whose prices are up to Rp. 10,000 per liter. That is our proposal, Mr. Minister and make this a government program so that fishermen can go to sea easily," said Andre.
