Program Padat Karya Irigasi Serap 122,066 Manpower, Minister Basuki Hopes To Maintain Community Buyness

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) noted that the labor-intensive program for the Acceleration of the Irrigation Water Administration Improvement (P3-TGAI) until September 6, 2022 has absorbed 122,066 workers.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the people's infrastructure program or the Cash Work Padat is very important for people with low income.

"In addition to spurring economic growth and increasing people's purchasing power, the Cash Work Padat also aims to distribute funds to villages/in remote areas," he said in a statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 7.

Based on e-monitoring data on September 6, 2022, the achievement of P3-TGAI's physical work was 84.35 percent worth Rp1.74 trillion with 122,066 workers in 8,945 locations.

With the acceleration of the realization of the Cash Work Integrated program, it is hoped that it can maintain people's purchasing power amidst the uncertainty of global economic conditions due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the provinces that has been completed for P3-TGAI in 2022 is the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as many as 90 points, spread across Timor Island in 29 locations, Flores Island in 34 locations, and Sumba Island in 27 locations.

The handover was carried out after the progress of the work was 100 percent completed and was marked by the signing of the Minutes of Handover of Work by the River Basin Center (BWS) of Nusa Tenggara II, the Directorate General of Water Resources to each village head and the Chair of the Water Pemakai Farmers Association (P3A).

The Cash Work Intensive Program through P3-TGAI implemented by the Ministry of PUPR continues to roll throughout Indonesia. In 2022, the implementation of P3-TGAI will reach 10,000 locations with a total budget of IDR 2.25 trillion.
