Present At The Plenary Session Of The Association Of Ekbis Faculty In Palembang, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Disclaimed Stability Strategy And Economic Recovery

JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin explained a number of strategies to achieve national economic stability and recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic and in the midst of geopolitical conditions and the current global crisis.

The presentation was conveyed by the Vice President in his remarks at the Plenary Session XIX of the Association of Indonesian Faculty of Economics and Business (AFEBI) and Halal Indonesia Summit 2022 in Palembang, South Sumatra, Wednesday, as witnessed online.

Economic stability and recovery can be carried out with the following things. First, strengthen supply and supply chains for basic needs, so as not to cause disturbances in the distribution of goods and services," said the Vice President, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 7.

He conveyed that the production and distribution of basic necessities must be maintained to the grassroots so that inflation can be controlled so that it does not burden the household economy.

Second, said the Vice President, carefully and effectively organize fiscal and monetary policies in order to maintain macroeconomic stability. The policies made must be effective and focused on targets, for example subsidies are intended for vulnerable groups of people and budgets are effectively allocated according to priority.

Third, accelerate innovation and digitization to encourage inclusive economic growth. He emphasized that the pandemic gave birth to new ways of working and innovation as well as accelerating digital transformation, so that innovation and digitalization should reach all groups of people so that they can become a medium of progress and growth, not to foster inequality.

Fourth, encourage equitable distribution and economic justice, where several efforts have been and can continue to be made by the Government, namely by promoting the construction of cooperative businesses, limiting land tenure, expanding access to capital for MSME actors, optimizing SOEs, and industrializing local resources-based rural areas.

Another effort to sharpen development in order to balance growth and equity is to develop Islamic economics and finance. This economic concept is inclusive for all citizens and a complement to the national economic system. The government is very serious about encouraging Islamic economics and finance so that its development to date is very good," he explained.

Therefore, Ma'ruf Amin appreciated the implementation of the 2022 Halal Summit in conjunction with the 19th AFEBI Pleno Session. He hopes that this activity can promote the halal business and open up halal business opportunities for the community.

"With the support of all parties, we are optimistic, God willing, Indonesia will become the World Halal Center in 2024," he said.

at the end of his remarks, Ma'ruf advised the Deans of the Faculty of Economics and Business throughout Indonesia to formulate economic theories and concepts that are in accordance with the constitution so that the goal of the state, namely "social justice for all Indonesian people" can be transformed in Indonesia.
