Pertamina Will Continue To Adjust Pertamax Prices In Accordance With Existing Stocks

JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga, Sub Holding Commercial & Trading of PT Pertamina (Persero) has reimposed periodic price adjustments for Pertamax products. This regular price adjustment mechanism is carried out again as before the pandemic, considering that Pertamax is a non-subsidized fuel whose prices fluctuating following the latest developments and trends of the oil and gas industry, especially world oil prices or ICP. Pertamina Patra Niaga's Corporate Secretary, Irto Ginting explained that in recent months the price of Pertamax has not been adjusted regularly following the ICP trend, so that until now the selling price of Pertamax has a difference with the economic price. "It was recorded that from March to September 2022, BBM RON 92 which is equivalent to Pertamax has been adjusted periodically by other business entities, while Pertamax has only made one price adjustment last April," explained Irto in an official statement, Monday, September 5. With the ICP trend still quite high last August at around 94.17 US dollars per barrel, Pertamina Patra Niaga set a new price for Pertamax which is effective from September 3. The selling price of Pertamax is set at Rp. 14,500 per liter for the DKI Jakarta area or an area with a motor vehicle fuel tax (PBBKB) of 5 percent. "This price determination is in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 62/K/12/MEM/2020 concerning the formulation of public fuel prices (JBU). When compared to all RON 92 products, Pertamax prices are still the most competitive," added Irto. Irto continued, this price adjustment will continue to be balanced with stock availability and distribution guarantees to all gas stations in Indonesia. "This is Pertamina's commitment to maintaining national energy security. In terms of price, it is also maintained the most competitively.
