The Se-Asia Food Crops Exhibition Will Be Held Again, Planned To Take Place At JIExpo Kemayoran

JAKARTA - The Markets Informa is again holding a 2022 Food Ingredients Asia (Fi Asia) food and beverage raw material exhibition.

Fi Asia 2022 will last for three days from September 7 to 9 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran.

The exhibition, which will be attended by more than 300 leading food producers from around the world, will feature various innovations in the latest food and beverage raw materials.

The exhibition also aims to respond to growing demand for food and health supplements, especially from global consumers who are increasingly aware of the importance of maintaining health.

Chairman of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Manufacturers Association (GAPMMI), Adhi S Lukman said, Indonesia should be proud because it continues to show growth in the food and beverage industry in this challenging year.

"I estimate that his performance will improve because household consumption has recovered," he said at a press conference in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 31.

GAPMMI also projects that the growth of gross domestic product (GDP) in the food and beverage (mamin) industry throughout 2022 will reach five percent on an annual basis.

However, the increase in food and energy prices has made a number of food and beverage industries increase the selling price of their products by an average of around 5 percent this month.

The impact is getting worse during the Russian-Ukraine war and export restrictions by several countries.

"Therefore, it is important for industry players to get the latest information regarding the development of the food and beverage industry so that they can compete in the industry," he continued.

Furthermore, Adhi said, Fi Asia is the right and comprehensive platform for various business scale in increasing and strengthening the existence and capacity of industrial players in the ASEAN region.

"We really appreciate the Food Inngredients Asia (Fi Asia) which continues to support the national food and beverage industry by organizing an international standard food and beverage raw material exhibition in Indonesia," he said.

"Fi Asia has more value for exhibitors and visitors through various activities that are beneficial to the industry, so that it can create competitive products. In the future, Indonesia will not only absorb foreign commodities, but will be able to produce innovative processed food and drinks at an efficient cost," explained Adhi.

Indonesia is a country in Asia that has a prospective share of food raw materials market. The annual growth of the food raw material industry is predicted to increase to reach 5.30 percent in the 2021-2026 period.

The growth of the food and beverage industry in Indonesia even showed a positive performance during the pandemic, where growth reached 2.45 percent in the first quarter of 2021.

Not only that, but the 4th most populous country in the world also shows a high trend in selling food products for health food products, which is 8 percent of the total population.

For information, Fi Asia was first held in Southeast Asia, precisely in Singapore in 1997 and Thailand in 2002.

Indonesia was chosen as the host of Fi Asia for the first time in 2010.

Now, Fi Asia has become a leading annual exhibition platform globally.

Indonesia and Thailand will take turns to host Fi Asia.
